Worried about your pet? At Dierenkliniek Capelle, you can book a consultation for questions, health concerns, check-ups or symptoms involving your dog, cat, rabbit or rodent.

During the consultation, we first listen to your concerns. The veterinarian then carefully examines your pet and explains the findings. We will discuss what may be causing the symptoms and which next steps are most appropriate.

Veterinarian

The veterinarian will first ask you a few questions and then carefully examine your pet. If needed, we will recommend additional tests, such as blood tests, urine tests, an ultrasound or an X-ray.

We explain our recommendations clearly and tell you why we are making them. Where possible, we also discuss the expected costs with you in advance.

Frequently asked questions

  • When should I book a consultation?

Are you unsure whether your pet is unwell, limping or behaving differently than usual? A consultation can help determine what may be going on. We carefully examine your pet and discuss our findings with you. In an emergency, please call us immediately.

  • How long does a consultation take?

A standard consultation takes 15 minutes. Are you bringing more than one pet, or does your pet have several health concerns? Please let us know in advance so we can schedule enough time for your appointment. In these cases, we may schedule and charge for a double consultation.

  • What is a senior check-up and when is it useful?

A senior check-up is intended for cats aged 10 and over that seem healthy. We complete a questionnaire and carry out a weight assessment, blood pressure measurement and blood test. When possible, we also perform a urine test. This helps us identify health problems early and begin treatment sooner.

  • Can I come to you for a second opinion?

Yes. Are you unsure about a previous diagnosis, or are you wondering whether other treatment options are available? We are happy to review your pet's situation. Please ask the other veterinary practice to send us your pet’s medical records in advance. This can avoid unnecessary repeat tests.

  • What happens if my pet needs a specialist?

Sometimes your pet needs more specialised care than we can provide, such as a CT scan, MRI scan or orthopaedic surgery. In that case, we will explain this and refer you to a suitable clinic. Do you have a preference for a particular specialist? Please let us know.

  • What can I expect at a vet tech appointment?

Our veterinary technicians can help with nail clipping, wound checks, dental checks, weight-loss support and tick removal, among other services. They can also give monthly injections, for example for allergies or pain relief. Our veterinary technicians are qualified and happy to offer advice.

  • Can I choose a specific veterinarian?

Do you have a preference for a specific veterinarian? Please contact us by phone. We will be happy to check when they are available.

  • What if I can't make my appointment?

Please reschedule or cancel your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. If you are unable to do so, or if you miss your appointment, we may charge a no-show fee.

Do you have any questions, or are you unsure whether an appointment is necessary? Please contact us. We are happy to help and advise you.
