Vaccinations help protect your pet against infectious diseases. At Dierenkliniek Capelle, you can have your dog, cat or rabbit vaccinated.


A vaccination appointment is also a good opportunity to discuss your pet's health. We do more than simply give an injection, we also check how your pet's overall health and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

Dogs, cats and rabbits can become ill from viruses and bacteria. Vaccination helps your pet's immune system build protect against these infections.

The vaccinations needed depends on your pet's species, age, health and individual circumstances. Your pet may need extra vaccinations before staying at a boarding facility or travelling abroad.

The veterinarian examines your pet, checking their weight, heart, lungs, teeth, coat and overall condition.

We then discuss which vaccination is needed. Do you have questions about behaviour, nutrition or health? You can ask them during the appointment.


Some vaccinations must be given in advance, for example before a stay in kennels or travel abroad. Please contact us well in advance.

Frequently asked questions

  • How often does my pet need to be vaccinated?

    That depends on your pet's age and the type of vaccination. We follow national vaccination guidelines and will discuss which vaccinations are appropriate for your dog, cat or rabbit during the appointment. 

  • Will my pet also be checked during the vaccination?

    Yes. We carry out a health check as part of the vaccination appointment. Do you have questions or concerns about your pet? We can discuss them during the same appointment and take the time to address them properly.

  • What does the annual check-up involve?

    During the annual check-up we carefully examine your pet. We listen to their heart, and check their teeth, ears, eyes and skin before giving the annual vaccination.

  • Which vaccinations are needed for boarding, kennels or travel abroad?

    Boarding facilities and kennels often require additional vaccinations. Requirements for travel abroad vary by country. These vaccinations usually need to be given at least three weeks before departure or the start of your pet's stay, so please book well in advance.

  • What do I need to arrange for my dog to be microchipped or to get an EU pet passport?

    Since November 2021, a UBN (a Dutch unique business number for the location) has been required in certain situations for microchipping and registering dogs and for issuing an EU pet passport. You need to apply for a UBN yourself through the RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency). Without a UBN, we may not be able to microchip or register your dog.

  • My pet isn't feeling well. Can they still be vaccinated?

    We only vaccinate animals that are healthy. If your pet is feeling unwell, or if you are unsure whether they are well enough to be vaccinated, please call us beforehand. It may be better to reschedule the vaccination or book a consultation first.
